  Older Driver Awareness Training
After 17-21 years old drivers, over 60's have the highest crash rates.  Being a good driver means you never stop learning, and you should recognise the need to constantly review and adapt your driving to maintain standards and improve techniques.  Vehicles and driving conditions are constantly changing and your skills need to keep pace with this change to prevent your driving becoming outdated, inappropriate or dangerous.

Interesting Fact

A survey carried out by the motor research centre Thatcham showed that 72% of people travelling in vehicles do not adjust their head restraints correctly - increasing the risk of avoidable whiplash injuries in the event of a crash

Our course module focuses on the employees needs, working proactively to improve or update their driving techniques, and using their own experience to develop their hazard awareness and proactive / defensive driving skills.  As eyesight deteriorates with age, this group of drivers may be at an increased risk of driving with defective vision, and so vision screening may be appropriate.

This training course may be appropriate if the risk assessments show that you have employees driving who are nearing retirement age, or your crash database shows that you have a lot of collisions involving older employees.
