| Minibus Training - Category D1 | ||||||||||
| Changes to licensing laws in January 1997 restrict the use of minibuses. Employees often take on responsibility for driving minibuses with little or no training, and therefore may be unaware of the risks involved. Wherever an employee is responsible the safety of passengers, employers should ensure that they have the necessary skills to ensure the risks are minimised. |
Interesting Fact In 2001 there were only 14 drivers and passengers of buses and coaches killed in road crashes in the UK |

| Our course module focuses on reducing the risks involved with driving larger vehicles, by developing proactive / defensive driving techniques and improving hazard awareness skills specific to the type of vehicle. We also prepare drivers for their test, should this be required (i.e. if they passed their driving test after 1-1-97). The course also focuses on passenger safety, both when they are in the vehicle and also as they are getting into and out of the vehicle, and also passenger comfort. | ||||||||||
| This
training will be appropriate if you have employees who need to drive
minibuses as part of their job, whether this is a regular occurrence or if
you hire these vehicles for occasional journeys.
