  Manoeuvring Training
A very high percentage - up to two thirds - of fleet crashes are reversing or low-speed manoeuvring collisions.  Even though they do not often result in serious injury or death of the vehicle occupants, although there is a risk of harm to pedestrians, especially children, the average cost of a low-speed manoeuvring collision is around £700.

Interesting Fact

The Department for Transport found out, from surveys in 2001, that 65% of cars exceeded the 30mph speed limit on urban roads when travel was not constrained by congestion or other road conditions

Our course module looks at both the physical aspects of manoeuvring & reversing, working proactively to improve control, observation, and judgment, and also selecting the correct method and location for carrying out manoeuvres to help drivers establish the best and safest method within their own level of ability.  This module can be taken in conjunction with the minibus, 4x4 or towing modules as the techniques for manoeuvring vary with each different type of vehicle.  It may also be beneficial to include the vehicle security module, as these considerations are also important when assessing best practice.

This training will be appropriate if the crash analysis shows that there are a high number of low speed manoeuvring collisions, such as in car parks, and also if there is a high incidence of 'hit whilst parked' claims.
