| 4x4 Off-Road Training | ||||||||||
| Employees often drive 4x4 vehicles off-road with little or no training and may be unaware of the risks involved or the environmental impact they may have. Where employees need to drive off-road as part of their work the employer has a duty of care to ensure that the risks are minimised. Many employees are also choosing these vehicles as 'lifestyle accessory' company cars, and are tempted to explore their off-road capabilities. |
Interesting Fact Over half of car drivers killed die on country roads. It happens in daylight and in good weather conditions. You know the road, your car and how fast you can take the corner, but you don't know what's just round the corner... |

| Our course module covers all aspects of Off-Road driving, focusing on the needs of the employee specific to the type of vehicle and the type of terrain driven. Recovery and winching techniques can also be covered should it be appropriate. | ||||||||||
| This training will be appropriate if the risk assessments show that employees are driving off-road as part of their job, or the crash analysis shows that there are a high number of incidents off road. It is also appropriate if company-owned vehicles are being driven off road in employees leisure time, as there is still a possibility of financial loss in the event of a crash. | ||||||||||
