The club was previously called  Antelope & Castle Cricket Club (dating back to 1865), but we decided in 1999 to rename ourselves Eastleigh Cricket Club to reflect the area where our members live and the area where we play.   We have played cricket in the Eastleigh area for the past 15 years and the time has come to recognise this fact and give our club some permanent roots.

There has never been an Eastleigh CC which is surprising considering that Eastleigh is one of the major towns in Hampshire.  By renaming the club we hoped to attract new local players to the club (who may have thought Antelope & Castle was a pub!) and to forge links with the local schools to ensure that a continuous stream of young players join our senior XI's.
